Candle Safety

Candle Care, From Our Home to Yours
Every candle we make is poured by hand, with care, patience, and a genuine love for the homes they end up in. To help you enjoy yours safely — and get the very best burn from start to finish — we kindly ask that you follow these guidelines:

• Never leave your candle burning unattended
• Keep candles well away from children, pets, and anything that could catch fire
• Burn for no longer than 4 hours at a time to protect the wick and container
• Trim the wick to around 5mm before each burn to keep the flame steady and clean
• Let the first burn melt the wax right to the edges to avoid tunnelling
• Leave at least 10cm between burning candles
• Keep your candle away from draughts, vents, and open windows
• Place on a stable, heat‑resistant surface to protect your furniture
• Don’t burn your candle all the way down — leave around 5mm of wax at the base
• Always snuff out the flame gently; avoid blowing it out
• Keep the wax pool free from matches, wick trimmings, and debris
• Never move a candle while it’s lit or when the wax is still hot
• If the flame becomes too high or flickers wildly, extinguish it, trim the wick, and relight once cooled
• Allow the container to cool fully before handling or replacing the lid

You’ll find full safety details on the base of every candle, but if you’re ever unsure about anything — truly — just reach out. We’re a small family business, and we’re always happy to help.
